For three non-stop days this August, the University of Lagos became the epicenter of Nigerian tech as founders, investors, and builders converged for the NiTHub Innovation Fair. For us at NaviaRide, it was more than just an exhibition — it was a real-time validation of everything we have been building in the dark.
We set up our booth with one primary mission: to show exactly how we are solving Nigeria's $2.5 billion urban commute friction. And the reception was nothing short of incredible.
Day Two: Insights from the VC Panel
One of the most defining moments of the fair was the Venture Capital panel session on the second day. Listening to active VCs break down what it takes to build highly scalable, category-defining infrastructure in Africa reinforced our core thesis at NaviaRide.
The market is hungry for solutions that do not just rely on heavy capital expenditure, but utilise smart, trust-based software to optimise existing resources. Hearing investors emphasise the need for robust unit economics and high-trust platforms confirmed that our approach — building a fixed-route, NIN-verified transit network for 9-to-5 professionals — is exactly what the ecosystem needs.
Pitching the Future of the Commute

Throughout the fair, our booth was buzzing. We pitched the NaviaRide vision to hundreds of attendees, developers, and corporate workers who understand the daily chaos of commuting in Lagos and Abuja.
When we explained our model — allowing verified car owners to monetise their empty seats while providing safe, predictable, and affordable rides for fellow professionals along their exact daily routes — the "Aha!" moment was instant. People immediately resonated with the pain point. They are tired of the unpredictability, the surging prices, and the safety concerns of standard ride-hailing and public transit.
Every morning, thousands of professionals drive into the city with three or four empty seats, absorbing 100% of the fuel cost — while colleagues right next door are stranded at bus stops. NaviaRide changes that.
Taking the Vision to National Television

The momentum at our booth even caught the attention of the media. When the TVC (Television Continental) crew stopped by, our co-founder took the mic to break down the NaviaRide mission on national television.
He pitched exactly why NaviaRide is the definitive answer to Nigeria's commute infrastructure deficiencies. We are not just putting more cars on the road; we are intelligently routing the ones that are already there. By embedding real-time identity verification and focusing strictly on the corporate commuter class, we are bringing order, safety, and dignity back to the daily commute.
We Are Launch-Ready: Join the Waitlist
The energy from the NiTHub Innovation Fair has fuelled us for this final stretch. The platform is built, the backend processes are locked in, and NaviaRide is officially launch-ready.
As we gear up for our dual-hub rollout in Lagos and Abuja, our biggest validation metric right now is our waitlist. We are meticulously onboarding early adopters who want to be the first to experience a seamless, secure commute. The system is broken, but we are fixing it. If you are a 9-to-5 worker in Lagos or Abuja tired of the daily transit struggle — or a car owner looking to let your empty seats pay for your fuel — it is time to get on board.
